something that allows you to be something you are not, and thus (the intention of doing so is to) protecting yourself from exterior/outward harm.

in simplier terms, it is to:

cry when you're happy
laught when you're sad
convince yourself that you do not care when you do
& place the utmost care in the most travial things

(other.) can also be defined as that which seperates the exterior and the interior things.

i'm not that extreme as in doing the opposite... that's too tiring. but i buy the "seperates the exterior and the interior things" definition.
